I knocked out The Scale of the Sands achievement the other day. This one isn’t a big deal. MoP raid-geared feral druid makes minced-meat out of the bosses quickly (having cats at home, I have visions of the bosses winding up in cans of fancy feasts). The only thing that sucks is the ranged gargoyles. Lots of running back and forth in the Horde encampment. However, 5 runs of the raid, and you are completely done.
Unlike Hydraxian Waterlords. Holy crap! From starting rep, it’s 23 weeks to exalted. Granted, if you throw in the Dark Moon Fair rep bonus and your guild bonus, you might be able to knock 3 weeks off of that. Still…half a bloody year on this damned place. I’m about half way there. *le sigh*
There is some solace, though. Up until you hit revered, you can go back into The Molten Core and farm trash rep (all trash respawns) and you can ROLFSTOMP Black Rock Depths and Upper Black Rock Spire for additional mobs.
Also, as a druid, the Cenarian Raiment tier gear is an awesome transmogrification set (which you will receive a couple times over, before the grind is up). Several of the tier sets in MC are pretty epic transmogs, so your toon will look amazing for having done the grind.
There is also the potential to get the legendary drop for Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros and if you are a class that can use swords, there’s also the chance to get the pieces for Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. Yes, I said Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.
After the WoD drops, I have a feeling the next big grind (after leveling) will be Avengers of Hyjal reputation and working on the Legendary Staff quest line on my druid. Also, thinking I will finally get to doing the rogue dagger quests. Of course, I will still be trying for Thunderfury and the Warglaives on my Warrior (week after week after week after week after week…I think this monotony runs right next to my continued rut of trying for mounts from old instances).
